Dear WOF, v6.41 SysOp,
It was discovered that there was another "loss of carrier" bug in the
game files that was tied into the new "Return to Game Menu on Bad Guesses"
feature of the game.
This meant that if either the SysOp made it mandatory or the user CHOSE
to make it mandatory or the user CHOSE to return to the menu after being
asked, then lost carrier, an endless loop would be created.
The three "Game.???" files included within this archive correct this
bug. No other changes to program coding were made.
In order so that we can distinguish these copies from the original
versions, the INTERNAL version numbers of these files has been updated to
v6.41a. By INTERNAL, I refer to the VERSION STRINGS inside the files and
NOT to the PROGRAMS version number. The 6.41 number will still appear in
the main title screens and on Registered Graphic screens(if you have them).
I'd also like to make it known that I've been giving a lot of thought
as to where I wish WOF to go in the future, and have come to the decision
that I do NOT wish to further develop the v6.x series of WOF.
This means that the next public release of WOF(bar any of these other
small "bug fix" releases) will be v7.0. This version will be the one to
allow users to play in multiple games at the same time, as is currently
possible in the popular Global Wars games. I refer NOT to "Head-2-Head"
types of games, but to "make a move, wait a call, make a move" types of
games. There have already been 3 BETA version releases of a "Head-2-Head"
version of the game, and there will be more, once the NEW version of CNet
has been officially released.
As a reminder, this NEW v7.0 will ONLY be available to REGISTERED WOF
SYSOPS, so if you haven't registered the game yet, I highly suggest that
you do. I've been writing versions of WOF for over 2 years now, so you all
SHOULD have had an adequate period of time to see the quality of this work.
I also mention this, because come the release of v7.0, the REGISTRATION fee
will once again be increased. This time to $25.00, instead of $15.00.
So, to register NOW, send your $15.00 Check or Money Order or CASH to
